A 13-year-old boy has died while playing soccer in Wellington County.
First responders were called to a soccer field in the village of Drayton just before 8 p.m. Wednesday to respond to a report of a boy in medical distress.
The boy had been playing soccer prior to suffering a medical emergency. According to police C.P.R. was given to the teen by bystanders. The youth was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police say they are investigating the incident with the assistance of the Coroner’s Office. A cause of death has not been released.
