On the last official day of winter, many in London are looking forward to warmer days, after a season that saw people spend much of their time hibernating.
And figures from Environment Canada show Londoners were right to stay indoors, as it was the coldest winter since 1976-77.
In addition, the average temperature was -7.9C, while the average is -4.2C. In the 1976-77 season the average was -8.7C.
Environment Canada also says the number of frigid days this season was more than double the city's average.
London saw 12 days of temperatures below -20C, while winter normally brings just five days in that low range.
And while it may seem like there was a lot of snow, the amount was above normal but not a record-breaker.
So far this winter London has received 232 centimetres of snow. The norm is down around 194 centimetres, but the record back in 1977 was 280.9 centimetres.
It's unclear though if the winter season is really over, despite the date on the calendar.
Environment Canada forecasters were calling for a wintry mix in southern, central and northeastern Ontario Wednesday, with a low pressure system expected to bring up to 15 centimetres of snow to some regions along with freezing rain and ice pellets.
