The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority issued a warning Tuesday about the potential for minor flooding.

With warmer temperatures and rain on the way officials say some of the existing snowpack will melt, particularly along the south Thames River where there is less snow cover.

In the meantime, watercourses are expected to rise and remain elevated into the weekend.

It also says rivers and creeks will approach bank-full conditions and, in some areas, may spill into floodplains.

Minor flooding may also be an issue in urban areas.

Finally the authority is warning parents to keep their children and pets away from the water and riverbanks.
