Huron County OPP seized over $2.2 million in marijuana and plants after searching a home on Marnoch Line in North Huron.

Police executed the search warrant on Thursday, and in addition to the drugs and marijuana plants, seized trafficking paraphernalia and cash with a combined estimated value of $2,000.

Eight people were arrested at the property, four men and four women ranging in age from 33 to 68 years old. Four were North Huron residents while others were from Scarborough, Port Hope and Markham, Ont. as well as Rhode Island, US.

All were charged with production of marijuana and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday.
