Queen's Park made its pitch Monday afternoon to expand gaming options in London.

The OLG has sweetened the deal that pays municipalities to host casino games, but with those financial benefits come social costs.

The Gaming Commission says there is demand for more gambling in our region.

Its up to city hall to decide if London wants to be the host community.

The Investment and Economic Prosperity Committee was told that the Western Fair currently has 800 slot machines and no table games.

The OLG would like to see an expanded casino facility either there or at another site in the region that would have 1200 slots and 300 seats at table games.

Mayor Joe Fontana says London would receive an additional $850,000 per year if it agrees to be host city.

There would also be a fully staffed centre to help the 1-5% of people with gambling addiction.
