A St. Thomas police officer had to be extricated from a cruiser after it collided with another vehicle on Burwell Road at Dennis Road Friday afternoon.
The officer was responding to a report of an impaired driver heading into St. Thomas on Highbury Avenue about 3 p.m.
Emergency personnel extricated the officer, who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues.
