Despite the wet weather, many Londoners turned out at Victoria Park Friday night for the annual Lighting of the Lights.

The event kicked off with caroling at 6:15 p.m., followed by the countdown to the illumination of the park at 6:50 p.m.

The theme this year is Winter Wonderland with more than 75,000 lights displayed in the park's trees, a variety of festive displays, and Santa's Mailbox for children to send their wish list.

Santa's House is a new addition this year. Kids can get their photo taken with Santa daily from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a donation.

All funds raised will go to the Teresina Larizza Charity, which provides comfort and support to children facing health challenges, especially those in hospital.

The outdoor skating rink in Victoria Park will open for the season on Dec. 4, weather permitting. It will be open daily from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The Winter Wonderland lights will brighten the park from 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. daily until New Year's Day.
