London police are investigating after an unfamiliar bus stopped to pick up school children.

The incident happened Monday in the area of Highview Avenue West and Highview Crescent before the school hour.

Police say a fully marked school bus attended the pickup spot and activated the proper emergency equipment. When the kids were about to get on the bus, officers say they realized it wasn’t the right driver or vehicle. A dog was also on the bus.

When the children didn’t get on, the doors closed and the bus drove away. Their regular scheduled bus showed up a short time later.

Police say at no point were the kids enticed or encouraged to get on the bus. No similar acts have been reported.

Officer say it is possible that this was a new driver who was not familiar with the route, however an investigation is still being conducted.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
