Police in Woodstock say that an apartment fire has turned fatal.
Fire crews were called to a 24 unit apartment building at 361 Devonshire Ave. around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Once emergency crews were on scene, residents were evacuated and sheltered in a Woodstock Transit bus.
During the evacuation, fire crews found a body inside one of the apartments.
Crews gained control of the fire and contained it to a unit on the east side of the building.
After several hours, most residents were able to return to their homes.
The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to help nvestigate.
