Extrication equipment was needed to free a driver from a van that collided with a City of London snowplow Friday.

It happened about 8 a.m. on Wilton Grove Road, near Old Victoria Road.

London police say the male driver was transported by air ambulance to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

They say both vehicles were westbound on Wilton Grove at the time of the collision.

The road was closed for the police investigation but has since reopened.
