Sarnia police say two more seniors have been robbed of over $6,000 each in phone scams.

An 87-year-old lost about $6,500 thru a telephone fraud involving various travel companies. The senior provided VISA card information over the phone after telemarketers enticed the senior with travel incentives, according to Sarnia police.

These transactions took placed over a 13 month period.

In the second incident, a 78-year-old senior got a call from a man whom the senior believed was their son-in-law. The caller said he had been in a car crash in Quebec and his insurance was no good in that province.

Police say the caller lured the senior into sending about $6,000 in cash to cover expenses. The senior was convinced the caller was the son-in-law and sent the money through a courier company to a Quebec address.

This investigation is being followed up by the Sarnia police criminal investigations branch.
