A Sarnia-area man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2008 death of his wife following a second trial.

Craig Short was accused of killing his 48-year-old wife Barbara Short at their Mooretown home.

Her body was found in a woodpile behind the home in October 2008 and an autopsy revealed that she died as the result of two skull fractures from blunt force trauma.

The Crown alleged that Short killed his wife after learning she was involved in an affair, but in his testimony Short insisted he was innocent.

This was the second time short was on trial. The first ended with the jury deadlocked following three days of deliberations.
