A former Londoner has been convicted of several charges in a stolen identity case in the U.S.

A jury in Wichita, Kansas convicted Leslie Lyle Camick of aggravated identity theft, obstruction of justice, mail fraud and wire fraud.

The prosecution said Camick stole the identity of his brother - who died as an infant - to live illegally in the U.S.

The court heard Camick worked as a telecommunications engineer and owed taxes and child support in in Canada before fleeing south of the border.

He lived in London prior to moving to the U.S.
