A candelight vigil will be held in London on Tuesday for the victims of the Florida nightclub shooting.

A gunman wielding an assault-type rifle and a handgun opened fire inside a crowded gay nightclub early Sunday, killing at least 50 people before dying in a gunfight with police. More than 50 others are injured, many critically.

Organizers of the London vigil, to be held at Aeolian Hall, say they want to show support for the victims and their families.

"Please join us to send out love, compassion and healing for the victims of this tragic event," a release says.

Andrew Rosser, president of the Pride London Festival, says there will be music and speakers as well as a chance to discuss the tragedy and how it impacts people locally. Other details are still being planned.

He says there is very much still a need for Pride festivals.

"This is a hate crime, happening in 2016. This is a very real example of our community being hit very hard."

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Aeolian Hall, 795 Dundas St. E., and the event will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the event is free.
