Effective June 30, Londoners will have to find another way to the Windy City other than flying the friendly skies.

CTV London has learned that United Airlines is cancelling its direct flights from London to Chicago.

London International Airport president Mike Seabrook says the cuts are due to a combination of factors, including the lack of profitability of the route and high Canadian taxes and the low flying Loonie.

This is just one of 17 routes United has dropped because of the low Canadian dollar.

It's another blow for London International Airport, as last February, United Airlines eliminated service from London to Newark New Jersey outside of Manhattan.

The London to Chicago flights have been operating since 2009.
