There's word of new flights coming to London International Airport.
The additional service comes as the airport prepares for winter charter flights with an ongoing renovation and re-branding.
The airport is getting ready for a big announcement on new Canadian destinations.
"We are going to be announcing over the coming weeks some additional services from those carriers [Air Canada and WestJet]," says CEO Mike Seabrook.
While it's too early to reveal where those places might be, Seabrook says London airport travellers have expressed their favourites.
"Halifax and Vancouver are two. We have requests for Montreal and Winnipeg, more than just the summer as it is now," says Seabrook.
The airport could use some new spots as the falling Canadian dollar has hurt recent attempts at new flights.
For example, the New York flight was launched just as the dollar fell.
To attract both new flights and new travellers, the airport is spending $1 million to not only upgrade signage but to reconfigure the terminal.
Once complete, the concourse will be opened up and barrier free and the entrance will be directly under the architectural overhang.
Of course there are still lots of charter flights from vacation companies.
Destinations this year will include direct flights to Cuba the Domican Republic and Mexico.
EDITORS NOTE: The cruise destination added, identified in our video report as Fort Myers, FL. is incorrect. The direct flight from London International Airport is to Palm Beach, FL.
