Officials with the London International Airport say customer satisfaction is high in part to added traveller amenities, such as food and beverage services in the departure lounge and full bar service, as well as infrastructure improvement.

Those improvements include barrier free washrooms.

The details were revealed in the airport's annual report.

The airport had close to half a million passengers in 2013 with 88 percent of passengers rating satisfaction with the airport as high.

The number of passengers is down about three per cent from 2012.

The airport spent $1.6 million in upgraded infrastructure and had a surplus of $1.2 million.

Other highlights of the report include:

  • 60% increase in cargo tonnage (1.4 million pounds of freight in 2013)
  • 76% occupancy in new cargo building
  • $674,123 in property taxes paid to the City of London
