Over 20,000 cars attend Magic of Lights as show ends Saturday night
Over 20,000 cars have made their way through the Magic of Lights display over the past six weeks in London, Ont.
“It's been an incredible run for us,” said Kyla Woodcock of Woodlo Productions who produces the show.
“The show this year was longer, and we had more new displays than we've ever had.”
The show, which started on November 22, 2024, ends Saturday night.
This year they moved to a new location at Fanshawe Conservation Area, and the volume of cars has been the highest since the inaugural year in 2021.
That year was during the pandemic, with nothing else to do, and drew 31,000 cars.
Woodcock believes the move from Longwoods Conservation Area to the new location has been a major boost to traffic.
“Being closer to the location right in the city, so I think we had more Londoners come and visit us,” she added.
“Incredibly, we have welcomed guests from Brantford and Kitchener to the east and Windsor to the west, and north as far as the Bruce Peninsula.”
She also credited the success to great weather, which included a number of nights with snow on the ground.
Once again, part of the funds will go to the Children’s Health Foundation.
“We haven't done the final tally, so I'm not sure what we'll get this year, but we were over $20,000 last year and we expect to be over that number again,” said Woodcock.
Organizers are giving people who book with the code 2025 a 25 per cent discount on the final night.
