Arrested woman admitted to hospital, SIU investigating incident

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating following an incident with the London Police Service.

On Friday around 8 a.m., police were called to a home near Langarth Street West and Winston Avenue for a welfare check.

The LPS said they found the woman nearby the home in distress with a weapon. Police used a conducted energy weapon as the woman was arrested.

She was taken to hospital where her condition reportedly worsened. The woman is still in hospital.

The SIU has invoked its mandate as a result. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the SIU at 416-622-0748 or 1-800-787-8529.
