Snowy beginning to the week for London and area
The London area will see a snowy, bitterly cold beginning to the week following a messy weekend for some parts of Midwestern Ontario.
“Temperatures this afternoon, hovering between minus 8 and minus 12,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “And it feels a whole lot colder than that.”
Overnight, skies will be overcast with flurries expected to begin after midnight. Low minus 7 with the wind chill nearing minus 14.
“This will be a lake effect snow coming down wind of Lake Huron,” said Atchison.
On Tuesday, Londoners should expect flurries with blowing snow in the afternoon. We could see two to four centimetres for the London area. Winds will blow northwest, up to 50 km/h. High minus 4, wind chill minus 13.
Tuesday night there’s a potential for snow squalls, continuing into Wednesday, with a low of minus 9.
“The cold temperatures will continue through your Tuesday and through the week,” she added.
Monday night: Cloudy. Flurries beginning after midnight. Wind north 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low minus 7. Wind chill near minus 14.
Tuesday: Flurries. Local blowing snow in the afternoon. Local amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 4. Wind chill near minus 13.
Wednesday: Flurries or snow squalls. High minus 7.
Thursday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 3.
Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. High minus 3.
Saturday: Cloudy with 40 per cent chance of snow. High minus 3.
Sunday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 4.
