Two abandoned barns have been destroyed after three separate fires at a property on Brownsville Road west of Tillsonburg.

Oxford County OPP say they were called to the scene in South-West Oxford Township on three separate occassions over the last two weeks to assist with the fires.

The first incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 when fire crews and police arrived to find an abandoned barn engulfed in flames. The barn was destroyed.

Then 11 days later around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, police and fire crews from three stations were called to the same address for a fire at a smaller barn on the property.

Less than 48 hours later, just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, emergency responders were called to a second fire in the same barn, which completely destroyed the building.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office was contacted, but did not attend the scene, however the cause of the fires is being treated as suspicious and remains under investigation.

OPP are asking residents to keep an eye out for suspicious people or vehicles on neighbouring properties or driving up and down area roads.

Police say anyone who spots something suspicious should try to get a description, licence plate number and direction of travel and report it immediately to their local police service.
