Laptops were damaged and paint was dumped during a late night break-in at Tavistock Public School.

OPP also say the suspect or suspects tried to set fire to paper inside the gym.

The school’s alarm company was notified of the break-in around 10 p.m. Monday but found nothing amiss.

However, school officials discovered damage when they arrived at the building Tuesday morning and called police.

At that point police were notified.

It’s believed the building was entered through a broken window.

Damage is estimated at somewhere between $2,500 and $4,000.
