Museum London's Centre at the Forks campaign got a massive $300,00 boost from Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life Wednesday.
The Centre at the Forks will be a newly designed space within Museum London.
It will feature expansive windows overlooking the Forks of the Thames.
Wednesday marked the start of the campaign.
The goal is to raise $3.5 million from various businesses, foundations and individuals.
Money raised will be used to create a Building Fund war chest of $2.5 million for the renovations and $1 million Endowment Fund that will provide income to sustain multi-disciplinary programs.
Construction is expected to start in early 2017.
