The driver of a truck - and that company that owns it - have been charged in connection with a crash involving a minivan southeast of Milverton.

Perth County OPP responded to a crash at Perth Road 121 and Line 67 on the afternoon of July 31 involving a truck and a minivan carrying seven people.

All seven people in the minivan, including three children, were transported to hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

A police investigation found the minivan was southbound on Perth Road 121 when it was struck by a Peterbilt truck pulling a trailer loaded with gravel that was westbound on Line 67.

As a result, the driver of the truck, 23-year-old Mike Donkers of North Perth, has been charged with careless driving and failing to accurately complete daily inspection report.

The company that owns the truck, Donegan's Haulage Ltd. of North Perth, has been charged with failing to ensure daily inspection report is accurately completed.

Both are scheduled to appear in a Stratford court in September.
