Huron County OPP say 69 pigs were stolen from a farm in Huron County sometime between 12 p.m. June 28 and 9 a.m. June 29.

Police say the theft occurred on a farm on Krauter Line in Huron County and that the suspects entered the barn through an insecure back door.

According to police the suspects managed to load 69 pigs, weighing between 25 to 30 pounds each, and drive away. The total value of the stolen pigs is estimated to be around $3,000.

This is the second case of pigs being stolen in southern Ontario in less than two weeks.

Norfolk County OPP reported 500 pigs worth about $90,000 being stolen from a farm in the Houghton area on June 19.
