With summer winding down, it may seem like construction season should be hitting the brakes.

But that is certainly not the case.

Getting around the city hasn't been easy in some areas.

The largest projects have been going on for months - and they're set to continue.

Road widening at Southdale Road, Oxford Street and Sarnia Road still have two months to go before the work is complete.

On Wharncliffe Road between Baseline and Elmwood, paving work is causing headaches for Source for Sports, at the worst possible time.

"With hockey season starting up, it's pretty frustrating, and it's frustrating for our customers," says spokesperson Ryan Beliveau.

The store has even started offering deals to keep up traffic.

Luckily, for businesses on Wharncliffe, construction pain will be short lived.

That's because the project is actually smaller than some of the others going on in the city.

It should be complete by the end of the summer.
