A young student suffered minor injuries after a school bus collision in Grey County Monday morning.

According to Grey County OPP, the school bus was travelling through the intersection of Concession 5 and Sideroad 6 in Derby Township, when it was struck by a Mazda vehicle.

The driver of the bus and a lone 9-year-old passenger were injured in the crash.

The child was taken to hospital for treatment, while the bus driver was treated at the scene. Both have since been released.

The driver of the Mazda, a 17-year-old from Tara, has been charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.

The intersection was closed for a brief time, but has since reopened.
