Neighbours in the Watford area are expressing shock as police investigate the deaths of Mario and Susan Gubbels.
John Peters lives across from the home where 55-year-old Susan and 54-year-old Mario lived on Arkona Road in Warwick Township. Peters initial response, ""I'm stunned, just stunned."
Charged is the couple's son, 26-year-old Jeremy Gubbels, who Peters says was often in trouble as a youngster, "He just had a lot of issues as a youth, eh. He just had a lot of issues as a youth."
Peters was talking with the couple's daughter Amanda as she arrived home around nine o'clock Sunday night to check on her parents. It was then she discovered a disturbing scene. Peters says, "She walked into the house and said there was blood everywhere."
London police were contacted as the suspect in the deaths had ties to the Forest City.
Officers located a male victim on Sunday around 10:45 p.m. in a vehicle found in a parking lot near Richmond Street and Queens Avenue in London.
The suspect was arrested by London police without incident in a nearby restaurant around at 11 p.m.
OPP say they’re not searching for any further suspects, nor is there a threat to the public.
Post-mortems on the victims are expected to take place later this week.
