A 22-year-old camp counsellor at Ryerson Camp in Turkey Point is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
Norfolk County OPP say the charges come following an incident at the Front Road summer camp.
Officers were called shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday following allegations of a sexual assault at the camp location.
“Police received a call about a sexual assault that is alleged to have occurred at Ryerson Camp,” Const. Ed Sanchuk told CTV News. “Right now, it’s one incident that we’re investigating.”
Aaron Robert Howe of Ancaster, Ont. is facing one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Simcoe, Ont. court on Sept. 30.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and they are asking parents of children who attended the camp to talk to them about any inappropriate activity.
