London police are urging residents to enjoy themselves responsibly this St. Patrick's Day .

Police have committed extra resources to patrol the downtown core, Richmond Row and areas around Western University and Fanshawe COllege.

London police have teamed up to create a Youtube video with the Western University Student Council and Fanshawe College Student Union.

As well as the video, police will also be using social media to get their message across through the use of the hashtag #dontinviteus2urparty.

Police have some reminders and tips for those planning to party this March 17th.

• Control your celebrations

• Keep the party off the street

• Don’t take on the personal risk of illegally selling alcohol

• Understand that excessive noise at any time affects neighbours – Be reasonable

• Respect your neighbours

Last year, police issued 93 offence notices, with open liquor, public intoxication and public urination being the most frequent charges.

There were also a total of 240 warnings issued by police for a variety of infractions.

Police are trying to curb a large scale riot that occurred in 2012 on Fleming Drive. 

A mob of some 1,000 revellers hurled objects at police and fire officials and fuelled a massive street fire with furniture, fences and alcohol.

Dozens were arrested and more 170 charges were laid.
