Some 45 news jobs are on minds of federal and provincial politicians as they tour the site of a new museum that will bring needed employment to Port Burwell.
The politicians will tour HMCS Ojibwa, the site of a new museum on naval history Friday afternoon.
The transformation of the retired Cold War submarine will create permanent, season and part-time jobs.
Touring the Ojibwa Friday will be Elgin-Middlesex-London MP Joe Preston and provincial counterpart Jeff Yurek.
Prestonand Yurek have supported bringing submarine to Port Burwell.
The tour will be conducted by Elgin Military Museum executive director Ian Raven Ret. Rear-Admiral Dan McNeil, coordinator of Project Ojibwa.
The estimated cost of the project is more than $6 million.
