London police are investigating after chemicals were found inside a residence on Lawson Road on Monday afternoon.

Police received a call around 1 p.m. from a concerned citizen who had been inside the home.

A quantity of chemicals in various containers were found in the home.

The London Fire Department's HazMat team was called and determined there was no chance of an explosion.

“There were a variety of chemicals, enough to raise concerns,” said Const. Ken Steeves.

He said there are no injuries and no charges have been laid.

An occupant of the residence was transported to hospital for an unrelated matter.

Police are expected to remain at the home through the night as the Guns and Drugs Section and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
