Huron County OPP have laid sexual assault charges against a North Huron man for alleged incidents that took place in the 1970s.

Police say the charges date back to events that occurred near Wingham between the summers of 1976 and 1978.  The accused was volunteering as a scout leader with the Wingham Scout Troop during that time. 

The alleged victims, two young teenaged boys, had met the accused through scouting activities. 

Police have charged a 71- year-old man with four counts of indecent assault and four counts of act of gross indecency.

The accused was arrested on Sept. 16, 2015.  He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 15, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wingham.
