London police along with OPP have arrested five people following a pair of armed robberies involving a machete.

Around 1:52 a.m. Wednesday, two men - one armed with a machete - entered the Mac's Milk store on Salisbury Avenue in London and demanded cash was demanded.

The pair fled with some money and cigarettes.

Police say roughly an hour later, the two men from the previous robbery - one carrying a machete - and a female armed with a baseball bat along with another female entered the Mac's Milk store in Thamesford.

A quantity of money, cigarettes and merchandise were taken.

OPP were called to investigate and contacted London Police as the suspects fled toward London.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m. a vehicle was stopped on Huron Street near Robin Hill Road in London.

The five occupants were arrested without incident.

Police say the vehicle was reported stolen in Woodstock.

Three young men age 18-19 and two female young offenders from London face several robbery-related charges.
