Environment Canada issues snow squall watch

A snow squall watch covers majority of the region Monday night.

London-Middlesex and Oxford-Brant are under a watch, while Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth are under a snow squall warning.

Starting overnight Monday into Tuesday, the first significant lake-effect flurries and snow squalls of the season are forecast to develop.

On Tuesday, the region will see flurries with a risk of snow squalls. Local amounts of between 5 to 10 cm are expected, with strong winds of 30 km/h and gusts of up to 60 km/h. The high will reach - 2 C, feeling like - 16 in the morning and - 9 in the afternoon with the wind chill. 

Partly cloudy skies and a 40 per cent chance of flurries are expected Tuesday night, with winds of 20 km/h and gusts of up to 40 km/h becoming light near midnight. Tuesday night's low will dip down to - 7 C, feeling like - 10 in the evening and - 15 overnight with the wind chill.
