A 47-year-old Dover Township man has died after a single-vehicle crash in Chatham-Kent.
Police say shortly after 11:00 p.m. Thursday night, emergency crews responded to the collision on Creek Line between Bearline Road and Winterline Road.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the man, and lone occupant in the vehicle, was traveling westbound on Creek Line at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree.
The man was pulled from his vehicle by emergency crews as the engine caught fire.
The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, where life saving measures were unsuccessful.
