Three people who attempted to flee police by jumping into the Thams River have been arrested, following a break and enter at the old Victoria Hospital.

Officers were called to 375 South Street on Tuesday around 7:45 p.m. for reports of a break-in.

When police arrived, two men and a woman fled into the river. The men made it to the other side of the river, while the woman was pulled from the water by police.

One of the men was arrested nearby, he and the woman were transported to hospital to be treated for symptoms of hypothermia.

The other man was later arrested at his residence.

The three suspects remain in custody, but charges have not yet been laid.

An investigation into the incident continues.
