Norfolk OPP have issued a warning to parents and caregivers as two youth were taken to hospital after eating candy believed to be tainted.

Police were called to an Evergreen Hill Road address after the two 15-year-olds were admitted to hospital.

Norfolk OPP say the boys ate the candy last week and police were contacted three days later.

They were taken to hospital, treated for their condition and released.

While it’s not known exactly what substance was ingested along with the candy, investigators believe it to be drug-related.

They say people should only purchase candy from reputable retail outlets.
