A man has been transported to hospital after he was injured apparently jumping from a third-floor window in Walkerton, Ont.

South Bruce OPP say they were following up on a male with an outstanding warrant at the Hartley House hotel on Jackson Street around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

As officers waited for someone in the room to open the door, they heard a commotion and what sounded like a window opening inside.

An officer responded to the back of the hotel and found the male suspect on the ground with leg injuries, allegedly caused by a fall from the third-story window.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his lower extremities and is being treated in hospital.

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is now involved and both the SIU and OPP are investigating.
