Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is now investigating a crash involving a London police cruiser that sent four people to hospital including two pedestrians.

Around 11 a.m. on Sunday an officer was southbound on Adelaide Street responding to a robbery call when the cruiser collided with a car that was eastbound on Oxford Street.

The car then stuck two pedestrians who were both taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment.

One pedestrian was released with minor injuries while the other, a 23-year-old woman, remained in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The SIU says three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to look into the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call 416-622-1898 or 1-800-787-8529 Ext. 1898.
