Starting Sept. 5, London drivers will be able to register their vehicles for overnight parking on most city streets with a new overnight parking pass system.

According to a release by the city, a maximum of 15 free passes may be issued per vehicle license plate.

Passes for multiple days and multiple license plates may be obtained with one submission.

Until Nov. 1, passes can be obtained in advance or the day of as needed.

Between Nov. 1 and April 15, passes will not be issued more than 48 hours in advance because of weather concerns.

During storms and street cleaning, pass holders will be notified via email if their pass will be revoked.

“Drivers are reminded that all other parking restrictions remain in effect, including prohibited parking and stopping areas, fire routes and the requirement to remove all vehicles from the street during snow clearing operations,” says Annette Drost, Manager, Municipal Law Enforcement Services in the release.

Overnight parking passes will be available until Victoria Day, that's when the overnight parking restriction is lifted for the summer.

Passes can be obtained online, by phone or in person.
