Norfolk County OPP are asking for help after two family dogs were taken from a yard on Windham Road.

Officers were called to Windham Road 13 in Norfolk County on Oct.2, at about 12:14 a.m. A concerned homeowner told police their family dog was taken from the property.

Through investigation it was determined that on Oct.1, between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m., unknown suspect went to the residence and removed a 1 ½ year old female Rottweiler named Dess from the property.

Police say the unknown suspect removed the animal from its chain and then removed the collar off the dog before fleeing in an unknown direction.

While officers were speaking to the homeowner, they were also told of a second family dog that was also taken from the property.

Through the course of investigation it was determined that on Tuesday, Sept. 15, an unknown suspect went to the address and removed a two-year-old, female Husky named Spirit.

Police say an alert neighbour observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the driveway and a male loading the Husky inside. A licence plate number was obtained and police will be following up with the information that was provided.

The Norfolk County OPP is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
