Members of the National Farmers Union from across the country are meeting in London today for the group's annual convention.

NFU President Jan Slomp says the three-day meeting comes at a crucial time, as world leaders gather in Paris to discuss climate change.

Slomp says farmers will be looking at ways they can make a difference to global warming.

He says farmers need to set up the next generation for success by adopting practices that work to move carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and into the soil.
