Police say a man has been arrested after a taxi driver was allegedly assaulted and cash demanded early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to the area of Egerton Street and Trafalgar Street around 3:30 a.m. for reports of a robbery.
While en route to that location, a fare allegedly assaulted the taxi driver and demanded cash. The man also reportedly had a weapon, which he displayed during the incident.
The suspect, 35-year-old Phillipe Cadieux, was arrested a short time later in a nearby residence and has been charged with armed robbery.
The victim did not sustain any injuries.
