Huron County OPP say two young males have been charged in connection with a fire at Watson’s Home Hardware in late January.
A 15-year-old and a 12-year-old, both from Goderich, are each facing charges of arson and mischief over $5,000. The older youth is also facing a charge of uttering threats.
The fire happened at the store on Bayfield Road around midnight on Jan. 20 and caused extensive damage to two utility sheds and their contents.
Provincial police say investigators found the two youths involved were smoking inside the sheds prior to the fire.
They also allege the 15-year-old threatened to harm the 12-year-old if he told police about the fire.
Both are expected in court on May 9.
