The man accused of killing a Toronto man and wounding his wife at a bird-dogging competition in Huron County last year was in a Goderich courtroom Wednesday.
Boris Panovski's preliminary hearing is to ensure there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
Two-and-a-half weeks have been set aside for the hearing.
A publication ban prohibits the media from reporting on the information revealed in court.
Panovski is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the shooting death of Don Frigo and wounding of his wife Eva Willer-Frigo last September.
The couple were training for a bird-dogging competition in the Hullett Wildlife Area north of Clinton when they were shot.
Testimony at the preliminary hearing continues Friday.
