The man accused of killing a former hunting dog competitor near Clinton, Ont. will get his day in court this October.
Boris Panovski’s preliminary hearing will begin Oct. 7th in a Goderich courtroom.
The North York native is accused is shooting and killing Don Frigo and wounding his wife, while they were training their hunting dogs at the Hullett Provincial Wildlife Area near Clinton.
The couple were shot while on horseback last September.
After being implored by the court to to hire a lawyer, Panovski was recently denied legal aid. His lawyer, Bob Richardson, is appealing that decision.
If it is denied again, it’s possible Panovski will have to represent himself during his preliminary hearing, which is a court proceeding to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to a trial.
Panovski will be back in court via video Sept. 16th to confirm October’s court date and resolve his legal representation.
