A 45-year-old London man faces impaired driving charges after police say he crashed into another car head-on, sending a father and his three-year-old son to hospital.
It took place on Highbury Avenue near Edgevalley Road around 8 p.m. Thursday. A black Honda Civic was travelling northbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed over the centre line and crashed head-on into a southbound red Hyundai Veloster, according to London police.
The driver of the Civic, Shawn Polci, 45 has since been charged with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
The 39-year-old male driver of the Hyundai and his 3-year-old son suffered minor injuries and were transported to hospital.
Polci also suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
