Jason Pearson, a 31-year-old of Waterloo, died five years ago on July 26 and police continue to hunt for the person driving the vehicle that struck him.
Huron OPP say Pearson was walking on a road north of the Grand Bend Motorplex at about 5 a.m. that day when he was hit. The driver left the scene.
A second motorist came upon the collision and called for help.
Pearson was taken to hospital where he died.
OPP say this is an ongoing investigation and police are still seeking assistance from the public.
“Jason Pearson was a young man with family and friends who loved him dearly. The driver that hit him needs to come forward, take responsibility and do the right thing. We will continue to investigate until we can bring this investigation to a resolution and provide some level of closure for Jason’s loved ones," says Huron County OPP Det.-Const. Heather Macrae
