Police are asking for public help to find a woman who hasn’t been seen since leaving the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound on Sunday afternoon.
Family and friends are concerned about 31-year-old Tavira Harford, and believe she may be in a “distressed state of mind.”
Police say she has no phone, money, wallet or vehicle and has not contacted her parents.
Harford is from Walkerton and police say she has no known contacts in Owen Sound, but reportedly has a fondness for the Mississauga and Port Credit area.
A heavy smoker, police add she may have hitch-hiked out of Owen Sound or perhaps been spotted asking for a cigarette.
She is described as white, 5’11” tall, 140 pounds with grey-blue eyes and long wavy brown hair. She has a slender build and a slight hunch to her back and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans.
Investigators say a ground search for the missing woman continues, and residents in the Owen Sound area are asked to check their properties, including out buildings, parked boats, fields and wooded areas.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Owen Sound Police Service at 519-376-1234 Ext. 0. If the information is time sensitive, people are asked to contact police dispatch directly rather than through e-mail or voice messaging.
